Sun filled second day of Camp Bestival sees families of all ages celebrating at Weston Park

The legendary Rick Astley headlined the opening night of the festival with a set full of 80s classics, new tunes and covers including an incredible drum solo from Rick as he covered AC/DC’s Highway to Hell. The set finished with the iconic ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ which had revellers dancing across the fields. Rick also covered hits like Sam Fender’s ‘Seventeen Going ‘Under.

Returning to Camp Bestival after an incredible headline set in Dorset, McFly played a nostalgic set which got hundreds of people at the Park stage singing and dancing during the whole duration of their set which was jam packed with hit after hit.

Camp Bestival’s Navigation Town which is new for this year kept families entertained with non stop activities throughout the day with everything from Aerial shows and clowns to jugglers and balloon modellersuploaded picture families can head to Navigation Town to grab the new free Explorer’s Passport to inspire children to explore activities, shows, talks, and workshops throughout the weekend, so that every child makes the most of their time at Camp Bestival. 

A bedtime story followed by a rave…Orbital’s Phil Hartnoll stopped by the CBeebies Bedtime Story tent ahead of their Big Top headline set on Friday evening and read doggy dance off.

The ever-so-popular Camp Bestival Slow Motion area saw families with adults and kids alike soak in some guided relaxation, with dozens of ice baths being taken and several sleep and yoga retreat sessions taking place over the course of the day. 

Other acts on the day included female-led soulful and discodelic group Say She She, iconic electronic duo Orbital live, comedian Maise Adams and family favourite Hacker T Dog & Katie Thistleton. The weekend is set to see over 350 artists and acts perform across the festival. 

Day three (Saturday, 17 August) will see families travel back in time as they show off their outfit creations in response to this year’s theme: Time Travel.

Following tradition at Camp Bestival, there will be a mega fancy dress competition on Saturday when one lucky family will win tickets to Camp Bestival 2025. Saturday will also see headline sets from Paloma Faith and performances from Gok Wan, The Darkness and Jake Shears
