Christmas Woodland at Blakemere

We were super excited to receive an invitation to Blakemere's Magical Christmas event.  This was something new for us, we had never been on a Santa woodland adventure before so didn't really have any expectations.

We arrived a little early with time to spare which meant we were able to visit some of the lovely quaint little shops in the Blakemere village complex, we even found a beautiful old fashioned little building where you can go in and make your own special reindeer food for free.  A little fairground ride, hook a duck and story telling attraction could also be found in the central area.

Upon arrival at the Christmas experience hut we were greeted inside a lovely warm and cosy festive cabin with a real roaring fire in the corner.  Everyone has a time slot and it makes it all the more exciting that you can see through into the next area where elves are wandering around entertaining guests as they wait to begin their adventure through the woodlands.

We don't want to give away the whole story and spoil the excitment so we will give a brief overview.  You begin your journey with the elves who take you on a magical journey through the woodlands meeting mystical and magical characters along the way entertaining you with their stories and fantastic songs.  You become honoury elves for the day in search for Santa.

Will you find the big man himself?? Of course you will and he will not disappoint!

We especially loved the visit to Santas workshop where children get to continue on the elf experience by actually making their very own cuddly husky dog, our children totally adore their huskies and have snuggled upto them every night since our visit.  Don't worry adults, santa has a treat for you too, you get to choose from a lovley scented candle in a beautiful glass vase or a great tasting festive beer.

Your adventure continues as you arrive in the small festive village where you can treat yourself to a range of festive drinks, snacks, hot dogs etc.  We opted for a great tasting hot chocolate topped with marshmallows and giant marshmallows on a huge stick which we then toasted on the open fire..... AMAZING!!!!

Within this area you will also find a great synthetic ice skating rink, visit the owls, face painting and WAND WHITTLING.... that's right, experts are on hand to help your children make their very own wooden wand....

Blakemere, we had an amazing day in the Magical Christmas Woodlands and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
