Tom Hardy is back on screens with brand new CBeebies Bedtime Story

CBeebies’ fan-favourite Bedtime Stories reader, Tom Hardy, will be reading a brand new story to families across the UK on CBeebies, BBC iPlayer and TikTok.

On Friday 1 December Tom Hardy will read ‘The Oak Tree’ by Julia Donaldson and Victoria Sandøy as part of National Tree Week 2023. He will tell the epic story of a tiny acorn’s thousand year journey, from seedling to mighty oak tree.

The tree witnesses a whole sweep of history, from the Viking invasion to a modern-day teddy bears’ picnic, and on each page we see children playing different games around it, as well as the animals, birds and insects whose lives depend on the tree.

 Families across the UK will be able to watch Tom Hardy’s new CBeebies Bedtime Stories on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer. Clips will also be available on the recently launched CBeebies TikTok page.

The award-winning actor first appeared on CBeebies on New Year’s Eve 2016 and returned in 2020. Now, Tom Hardy is back as part of a brand new set of six stories, recorded in his garden and accompanied by his French bulldog, Blue. 

 CBeebies Bedtime Stories is on each weekday at 6.50pm on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
