Tis’ the season to celebrate, so we invite you to discover our sparkling Christmas at Bolesworth experience in the heart of Cheshire from December 2 to December 24 2022.
Bolesworth will be transformed into a festive wonderland, festooned in seasonal sparkle and yuletide cheer for a month of unforgettable winter magic. Our incomparable enchanted Christmas Lights Trail returns for 2022 featuring an all-new route, a spectacular light show incorporating Bolesworth Castle itself and a breath-taking water display on our beautiful lake.
You can also look forward to a spectacular fairground, Christmas markets featuring shopping, food and winter warmers, reindeer encounters and our exclusive champagne experiences; there’s snow better place to get into the seasonal spirit this year!
Explore Cheshire’s Best Christmas Lights Trail
Bolesworth transforms into a winter wonderland, bathed in seasonal colour and illuminated by thousands of stunning lights, projections and interactive installations around the brand new 1.2 mile Christmas Lights Trail walk. With Bolesworth Castle bathed in colour as a unique Son et Lumiere as your dazzling backdrop, you’ll see everything from stunning light pyramids and orbs on the ground, lasers, glittering mirror balls and the spectacular dancing fountains on the ornamental lake.
Fairground Rides
If the lights trail weren’t enough, there’s even more sparkle and dazzle to soak-up whilst enjoying a host of fairground attractions for all ages… ho ho ho if you want to go faster! Please note there’s an additional cost for each ride.
Christmas Market
Get into the Christmas spirit by exploring our merry Christmas market. With a host of seasonal shopping and food stalls, it’s the perfect opportunity to pick up a unique gift for a special someone, or savouring some mouth-watering festive food whilst enjoying a celebratory cocktail or mulled wine to make your spirits bright!
Rudolph’s Rest
Enjoy a magical meeting with our friendly reindeer (red noses or otherwise) in Bolesworth’s enchanted woods as they prepare for their big night as part of Santa’s Sleigh Team.
Alpine Lodge
Our winter-warming indoor Alpine Lodge is the perfect place to take a break from the cold and packed with things to see and do (and most importantly plenty of places to sit) before you head back out on your festive adventure.
We’re Dog Friendly!
Your canine companions don’t have to miss out on the festive fun! Christmas at Bolesworth is a dog friendly event and perfect if you want to enjoy a seasonal walk in spectacular surroundings! Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and you must bring bags to clean up after them if nature calls. Please note dogs aren’t permitted in Santa’s Grotto.

Santa’s Grotto
Girls and boys of all ages are invited to meet Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas, before having a special photo taken to mark the magical meeting.
Champagne Island
Fizz the season to be jolly! Our Champagne Island is the perfect place to celebrate with family, friends or mark a special occasion with a loved one!
Lakeside Champagne Bar
Take a moment to stop and enjoy some fizz at our idyllic lakeside bar whilst taking-in stunning views across the enchanted Bolesworth lake.

The beautiful Bolesworth estate sits in Cheshire just outside of the Shropshire border between Whitchurch & Chester. The event organisers really have done an incredible job of creating a magical journey through the estate with suprises and mesmorizing lighting displays at every turn. It's difficult to put into words just how beautiful the lighting displays are so take a scroll through the images for a glimpse into the magic.
A fantastic selection of beautifully presented festive themed fairground rides with something suitable for all ages, its clear to see Bolesworth have selected nothing but the finest attractions and traders to join them in creating this wonderful experience. From Churros to hot chocolates, chicken & chips and marshmallows to toast on the openfires there is plenty to keep you well fed and watered or bubbled in the champagne island.
A favorite with the kids was definatley stumbling across the Reindeer retreat deep in the woodlands, the most beautiful reindeer we think we have ever seen and quite happy to come over and say hello too.
Bolesworth Christmas offers a sprinkle of everything festive.... fun, food, shopping and the most incredible, magical lighting displays.
Sadly we didn't get to visit Santa due to him being fully booked, however we did get a sneeky peek at the entrance rooms and it looked fantastic.
We already can't wait to visit again next year.
