Chew Chew

£3.10

Salted Caramel Milk Stout, 6.0%

Primarily a sweet, briney, chewy beer brewed with dark Belgian candi syrup, lactose and sea salt for a moreish dessert beer that is one of our most loved recipes. Above all, the complex dark malt bill and the smooth honey notes of East Kent Goldings hops results in a decadent and satisfying beer that is also perfectly balanced and drinkable. The recipe was originally conceived to be paired with Jura whisky as part of their tastival project. As such, this rich and unctuous dark beer is the perfect accompaniment to a lightly-peated whisky, for a complex hawf & hawf.

Malt: Maris Otter, Crystal, Flaked Oats, Carafa Special 3
Hops: East Kent Goldings
Yeast: Nottingham
Adjuncts: Lactose, Dark Belgian Candi Syrup, Sea Salt
IBU: 25
OG: 1060
Allergens: Malted Barley (Gluten), Lactose (Milk)

Our Verdict

The beers all revolve around railway theme type names, this had me confused so I dove into the history of this brewery and found it related to the location and building the brewery was built upon. They have some great posts and passion for their business, history and product.

The beers themselves are superb, flavoursome and well crafted. They are all well-presented and make for a real treat and even a quality gift for a beer loving pal or family member. A great range of flavours to suit most peoples taste and from the off you can tell this is a quality, well-made independent beer from a family run business.
