This smartphone is a winner when it comes to features and user-friendliness. It has been developed and produced for competent smartphone users who appreciate a device that is intuitive and easy to use while also offering all the great facilities afforded by a modern smartphone.
The triple-lens back camera can produce all sorts of beautiful pictures, not least because it has both an HD mode and an auto mode and can be used to take macro photos as well as good portrait and night-time shots. In addition, the phone has an 8MP front camera for the obligatory selfie.
The speed required for surfing the Internet, playing videos and exchanging WhatsApp messages with family is provided by a high-speed 1.8 Ghz octa-core processor, and to ensure you don't run out of juice when you're out and about, the SMART.5 is equipped with a very strong battery.
The phone comes with emporia's patented interactive Smartcover as standard. This allows important functions (such as the camera, torch, and acceptance and ending of calls) to be used even when the cover is closed. A protected smartphone has never been ready to use so quickly.
Thanks to the proven emporia menu-driven operation and large, easy-to-read buttons, this phone is intuitive and easy to use. Standard applications such as voice input, the pre-installed QR scanner and NFC (Near-Field Communication), which allows you to make cashless, contactless payments at supermarket checkouts, also help make it user-friendly
The handset comes with an instruction manual to help set up your phone AND an illustrated 154-page training book so that users can independently learn or refresh their skills using smart tech. The detailed training book covers basics like touch and swipe to fully explaining how to use the camera, and helps users set up secure contactless payments and understand QR codes.
The new emporia smartphone is IP54-certified (dust- and splash-proof) and equipped with the tried-and-tested emporia emergency button on its back, which enables the user to call for help very quickly.

Over the year's I have purchased many of these "simple to use, stripped back" mobile phones for my way back in the dark age technophobe parents and if I am honest, they have all been incredibly basic and quite frankly over priced for what they actually deliver. So when we are asked to take a look at the new Emporia Smart 5 we were intrigued as on paper the specifications seemed pretty impressive in comparison to what we have seen before.
The screen resolution gives a really impressive visual display and the camera provides superb images with many of the features you would find on any well know smartphone today. Menus are simple to use while not portraying the phone to be too simplistic.
The optional smartphone cover gives a really easy way to answer phonecalls quickly and easily and also screening who is calling without the need to open the case and unlock the phone.
Set up was really fast and simple and for anyone who struggles the comprehensive training book provides answers to pretty much anything you need in a simple to understand method.
I gave this to my elderly father to play with and he was super impressed. Finally this is a smartphone capable of providing seriously good quality graphics, taking high quality easy to edit images, super fast and super easy web browsing and thanks to the asthentically pleasing looks it wont leave you feeling like you have something from the dark ages in public :-)
While this may not be the latest iphone 13 pro or Samsung s22 ultra killer, it certainly provides an incredible balance between the most basic of "simple to use" mobile phones aimed at the older generations and todays latest smart phones.
Everything you need comes contained in the box including a super cool smart case and simple to use charging station and all at a seriously reasonable price too.
